Additional Considerations

While it is tempting to jump into a basement renovation you need to consider the other parts of your home before your start ceiling up the basement. We’ll help identify the things that may be of consideration before you start your basement project. It is important to consider the main services such as:

Plumbing: Do you have any kitchen or bathrooms that need the layout changed? Ripping up the main floor can be expensive, and nobody wants to pull a basement ceiling after it has already been finished.

Electrical: It is important to consider any additional electrical requirements you may be looking into for the main floor, upstairs, and even outside. Whether your adding a bar fridge, garburator, hot tub, exterior lighting, or even an electric car charger in the garage, all these things should be considered.

HVAC: Do you require any changes to your water heater, furnace, or air conditioner? Newer HVAC appliances often have different requirements when it comes to venting outside. You may also want to consider adding a gas line to your kitchen stovetop, backyard barbeque, or convert a fireplace. Additionally it makes sense to look over your HVAC system to see if it is efficient, or if changes can be made to make your other rooms upstairs more comfortable.
